Why Aren’t We All Healthy?

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Dream Why Arent We All Healthy? We were out at a local field day the other day.  For those unitiated a field day is where they have lots of stalls selling farm stuff plus a variety of other stuff.  So you get to see anything from tractors to handmade kids clothes to fudge to garages.  Apart from losing Son it was a pretty good day.  We’ve lost him before but never for so long, it was getting to the point where we were starting to think about having to get someone on the PA system to get people to look for him.  Thankfully it didn’t quite get to that.

Anyway that’s sort of by the way, the thing that I was thinking about as we wandered round was the variety of people and particularly the increasing number of people who don’t look all that healthy.  When you think about it nowadays we have more information than ever on what to do to get healthy, more gyms and exercise equipment available.  However we have more unhealthy people than ever before – why? Honey – What Can You Use It For?

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

thumb Honey%20Cover Honey What Can You Use It For?Honey is another of those substances, like vinegar, that has been around forever and it is now that we are realising that there is some truth to the advice from our grandparents about the benefits it has.

Cave paintings, which are believed to have been created around 7000 BC, show people keeping bees then. Bees have been around a lot longer than that, of course, so people could have been using honey before this. Throughout more recent history there is plenty of evidence of honey being used. The Egyptians used it, so did the Greeks. Bees were often used to signify royalty and Napolean had them embroidered on his robes.

OK so you get the picture that it has been around a while, incidentally if you keep your honey in an air tight container then it should last for years too. Honey can be used as a substitute for sugar in cooking, for health and even to remove some stains in your washing. (more…)

vinegarebook%20cover How Can Vinegar Improve Your Health?Have you heard the old saying 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away'? Well it turns out that this is good advice that we shouldn't ignore. Apples contain a whole host of nutritious things including potassium, calcium, iron and many trace elements. All of these are then found in pure Apple Cider Vinegar.

Apple Cider Vinegar is a great source of potassium. Potassium is essential for normal growth in the body and replacement of worn-out tissues. The vinegar is very effective in detoxicating various organs in the body together with the blood stream. It breaks down the fatty, mucous and phlegm deposits within the body. June 2008 Newsletter

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Just a quick note to let you know that the June newsletter is out now.  It's been revamped and contains a whole host of stuff, you are bound to find something to interest you.

I've reviewed a couple of our books on Pregnancy and Home Gardening plus included 10 tips from the Home Gardening book.

For those who aren't into pregnancy or gardening then you are sure to get a smile from reading the 10 amazing facts.  What gets me is how people work some of these things out.  Apparently human tonsils can bounce higher than a rubber ball of similar size and weight.  Fair enough, however apparently this is only true for the first thirty minutes after they are removed!  Now how did someone find this out, I have visions of someone in an operating theatre with tonsils in one hand and rubber ball in the other bouncing the two for thirty minutes.  Hopefully this wasn't the scenario that lead to this discovery…but what was?

For those that enjoyed the facts, there is a competition to guess which of another ten 'facts' are true – give it a go!

So go have a look at the Newsletter now.

Choose to have a great life,

 Nicky
