Snoring Is Not Normal

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The following article comes from our book Snoring And How To Stop It!

Do you snore?  The stereotype is that it is the middle aged, overweight man with a tendency toward over-eating or drinking.  While there are certain factors that mean that this group is certainly more prone to snoring, it is not totally their domain.  Anyone, man, woman or child can be a snorer.  As you age the likelihood that you will join this category increases.

Snoring may be common but it is not normal, so what is it and can you do anything about it? (more…)

How Can You Afford To Get To Your Dream Location?

thumb 101esstravonbudget ecover How Can You Afford To Get To Your Dream Location?Travelling can mean different things to different people, for some it is backpacking by yourself through various little known places, for others it is going on a guided tour and for some it is spending time in a resort relaxing.  Whatever travelling means to you, there are a number of tips that will be relevant to you that are covered in our book 101 Essential Tips for Travelling on a Budget.

Yes, many of the tips are geared towards the budget conscious but many are general, like the suggestion to pack one of those cheap fold up rain coats or ponchos.  They take up very little room and can be carried around in your day pack or hand bag and keep you dry in times of unexpected downpours. A book for Dad’s

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Do you sometimes get the feeling that having babies and parenting is more about the mother?  thumb Dadsallpurposeguidetoparenting%20cover A book for DadsYou look around and all the books and information are geared towards the woman, what she is going through, feeling and can expect.  I sometimes feel sorry for the Dad's, they can get caught up in all this information and focus on the woman and end up wondering what they can do, how should they be feeling, can they help.

Dad's All Purpose Guide to Parenting is a great guide to help Dad's out.  As the book says 'parenting is the most difficult job in the world'.  It isn't like putting together the flat pak furniture you just bought, which comes with instructions and there is only one way to do it and you know what you should end up with.  With parenting there is no one right way that suits all and the book touches on this and introduces some of the different ideas on some of the issues so you can decide what works for you.

The earlier sections on the new born are particularly geared towards Dad and dealing with the baby and Mum and what he can do to help.  Later sections giving advice for children as they get older are more general and provide some useful tips and information for all parents.  I just love the following statement: (more…)

Have Fun This Easter

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

What are you doing this Easter?  For many of us it is a time to get together with family and friends and eat.  This great book can help you do that, it has over a hundred recipes from main meals to breads to desserts and yummy treats.

thumb easterbk3%20cover Have Fun This EasterIf you have kids then the rest of the book is for them, there are dozens of things you can make with them.  You can have bunny and egg creations filling your house.  Once you have finished creating then you can start the games.  Included are the age old favourites like egg and spoon races and variations on the easter egg hunt plus a variety of others I had never thought of.  We had an egg and spoon race at Sons party last week.  The kids had a great time and using chocolate eggs it doesn't matter if they drop them and they get to eat them once they finish so everyone gets something.

Now if that isn't enough in the book the last 15 or so pages have colouring in pictures and puzzles which you can print out.

All up there is over 200 pages of food, craft and activities to keep you entertained this Easter.  Below is a sample recipe, craft and game to get you started. (more…)
